ALCA will carry out the façade works for Tirana’s Rock, an 85-metre-tall mixed-use project designed by MVRDV in the shape of Albania’s national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg. Located in central Tirana, the building has a total surface of 35,000 sq.m and will be among the world’s largest buildings that double as a figurative sculpture.
The project combines commercial space, offices, and residential apartments within a single sculptural volume. Its architectural identity is defined by curving balconies and a highly articulated façade geometry that translates the form of the figure into a buildable envelope.
ALCA will be responsible for the full façade scope, from engineering through manufacturing to on-site installation. Developed in collaboration with METRA Building as system partner, the façade package is designed to meet the project’s geometric, technical, and performance requirements in one of the city’s most visible new developments.
