Double facades were originally conceived as a way to reduce the transmission of external noise to the buildings. Usually, two layers of glass are used in these facades, where the natural ventilation of the cavity is done between them and it makes possible the absorption of heat as well as condensation.
This facade typology offers high acoustic and thermal performance and is often combined
with sunshades for sun protection.
